(a) Give one example of a chemical reaction.(b) State two characteristics of the chemical reaction which takes place when dilute sulphuric acid is poured over zinc granules. (c) Give two characteristics of the chemical reaction which occurs on adding potassium iodide solution to lead nitrate solution.

(a) An example of a chemical reaction is given below:
Magnesium ribbon is heated in the presence of air to form a white powder called magnesium oxide.
$2Mg\ ( s) \ +\ O_{2}( g) \ \rightarrow \ 2MgO\ ( s)$

(b) When dilute sulphuric acid is poured over zinc granules
  1.  there will be a rise in temperature
  2. hydrogen gas is evolved
$Zn\ ( s) \ +\ H_{2} SO_{4} \ ( aq) \ \rightarrow \ ZnSO_{4} \ ( aq) \ +\ H_{2} \ ( g) +Heat$

(c) The two characteristics of the chemical reaction which occurs on adding potassium iodide solution to lead nitrate solution are
  1.  A yellow precipitate of lead iodide is formed.
  2.  There will be a change in colour (from colourless to yellow).
 $2KI\ ( aq) \ +\ Pb( NO_{3})_{2\ }( aq) \ \rightarrow \ PbI_{2} \ ( s) \ +\ 2KNO_{3} \ ( aq)$
