Azure AZ-900 Certification: Everything You Need To Know

Over 90% of the Fortune 500 companies use at least one Microsoft cloud service. Today, it’s important for any IT or Business Professional to know what Microsoft offers from a cloud computing perspective.

What is Azure?

Azure is Microsoft’s cloud service platform. It is an online platform that allows any business to deploy and integrate applications and services with third-party software. Azure is a valuable business tool for any company that relies on cloud-based technology. As of 2018, a whopping 92% of the Fortune 500 use at least one Microsoft cloud service. And it’s not just Fortune 500 companies that utilize Microsoft’s Azure cloud services. Microsoft's customers span all industries, including retail, health care, automotive, manufacturing, energy, banking and finance, and government. In fact, Microsoft customers are the largest businesses in the world with 250,000+ cloud customers.

What are the benefits of Azure?

What are the features of Azure? What is Azure Storage? Why use Azure? Azure Basics Microsoft Azure is Microsoft’s public cloud offering.

From the Azure Website: Azure allows you to move workloads between Azure services such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) on the fly, with no CPU or disk constraints, to run any application you want on any hardware you have available to you. The Azure platform provides you a simple ‘lighter weight’ environment for running your workloads, using Microsoft’s .NET framework. Microsoft’s Cloud Platforms run any .NET application built using .NET framework 4.

Why do we need Azure in the first place?

So far, Azure is the “Next Big Thing” for Microsoft. I say that because of three reasons. The first one is the plethora of new services. It’s easy to write that as “we need Azure”. The second reason is the complex functionalities of the Azure solutions. These services require complex configurations to be effective and dependable. Finally, this is just a stage in the enterprise integration of cloud solutions. Just like consumer Cloud vendors, enterprise Cloud vendors have their flagship products. And Azure is a flagship product. The entry price is $6.8 per hour per user. One Azure subscription offers up to 8Gb of computing resources (Central Processing Unit, Memory, Storage and network bandwidth).

Is Azure right for you?

The Microsoft Azure Stack – currently in public preview – will be a Microsoft hosted offering that will enable companies to host their software and applications in Azure. This means you won’t need to use all the services offered by Azure, but you can use the entire Microsoft stack for your Business. Azure does offer the ability to run on-premise. However, many organizations still are not ready to change their traditional IT stack. Microsoft also has an updated list of minimum hardware specifications if you are on the fence. Get the Azure Stack Pricing Over time, the Azure Stack will require an additional subscription and will be available in several countries. There is a minimum hardware requirement, however.

Conclusion

Azure, the company behind the flagship Azure product (Azure) and more, has come a long way over the past decade. Today, Microsoft Azure is considered by many to be the best cloud computing platform in the world and a powerhouse in the cloud services marketplace. For years, the company’s mission was to provide businesses with the best managed cloud computing technology to deliver great software, services, and customer experiences. Today, Microsoft is ‘in it to win it’ in the cloud market and is revolutionizing the marketplace and the future of technology.
