Ashmita Marwa: A Creative Fashion Designer
Ashmita Marwa is a name that is often associated with eco-friendly clothing. As a strong proponent of slow fashion, the Hyderabadi designer launched the idea of zero waste luxury, which has its roots in recycling, upcycling, and regenerative design to produce timeless clothing. By producing dashing Bohemian yet ethical garments that celebs like Nagarjuna, Rana Daggubati, Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra, Ranveer Singh, Shriya Saran, Preity Zinta, Asin, and Tabu have previously worn, the designer has made an enduring impression on the fashion world.

Biography
Ashmita Marwa was born and raised in Hyderabad and has a birthday on February 7 every year (age unknown). She is an Aquarius by birth sign. She graduated from the Nizam College in Hyderabad with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and attended the Vidyarayana High School in Hyderabad. Anugita Abels, her mother, was an actress in that era. Deepika Mehta is a well-known yogini and expert in fitness. She is Asmita’s younger sister. On December 13, 1988, Ashmita was hitched to Harvesh Marwaha. Her husband is a chartered accountant. Karan Aryaman Marwaha, the son of the couple, is a filmmaker.
Professional life
In 1994, Ashmita made her debut in the fashion design field. At first, she styled Telugu movie stars like Santhosham, Attadu, Pokiri, Premante Idera, Arjun, Manmadhudu, and Gharshana. This allowed the designer the chance to collaborate with some well-known figures in the field and made her the first designer from Hyderabad to operate in the Telugu film business.
The self-taught designer gradually began organizing and hosting courses and exhibitions every six to eight months. Ashmita started her own sustainable design label, “Asmita Marwa Design,” in 2003 after realizing that her products had attained a sufficient level of popularity. Marwa claims that her company’s design philosophy is “Cradle-to-Cradle” or “regenerative design,” and that it primarily focuses on sustainable fashion through recycling and upcycling clothing. Her brand’s products are all produced internally following moral standards and procedures.
Marwa’s designs for her label were on display at the Blenders Pride Fashion Fringe Show in 2004, and the designer has been linked to the company ever since. When Asmita debuted her first collection of Kalamkari garments at the 2008 Lakme Fashion Week, her company’s name became well-known. Since then, the designer has been connected to LFW, and starting in 2011, Mrs. Marwa has continued to participate in Goa Fashion Week.
Famous works
From Paris to Los Angeles, Asmita’s Kalamkari collection established her as a well-known fashion designer, and the Asmita Marwa Design label grew to be associated with resort wear. The designer was additionally asked to exhibit her “Zero Waste Luxury” line at the Global Sustainable Fashion Week 2016, which took place in Budapest, Hungary, in 2016. In Warangal, Telangana, Asmita debuted her latest line, Flowers and Frida, at a glam fashion show. The collection, which debuted just before the Mexican artist’s birthday, was a tribute to her unconventional nature, which has long served as an inspiration to people. Models strutted in brocade co-ords, bohemian jackets, and vibrantly colored monochrome midis, with actress Aditi Rao Hydari serving as the show-stopper, dressed up in a black tulle skirt with ribbon detailing, a custom fringe vest, and an off-white elegant organza shirt paired with quirky white sneakers.
The collection combined voguish staples like floral headdresses, loose forms, vibrant colors, and red lipstick to perfectly capture Frida Kahlo’s free spirit and individualistic style. The entire collection was an appeal to women to be authentically themselves, rooted in their ancestry, and faithful to their natural, inborn beauty.
