A vessel has 4 litres and $ 500 \mathrm{ml} $ of curd. In how many glasses, each of $ 25 \mathrm{ml} $ capacity, can it be filled?

Given:

A vessel has 4 litres and \( 500 \mathrm{ml} \) of curd.

Capacity of each glass is 25 ml.

To do:

We have to find the number of glasses that can be filled.

Solution:

Volume of curd in the vessel $= 4$ litres and $500$ ml

$= (4\times1000+500)\ ml$        (Since $1\ L=1000\ ml$)

$= 4500\ ml$

Capacity of each glass $= 25\ ml$

Therefore,

The number of glasses that can be filled with curd $= \frac{4500}{25}$

$= 180$

Hence, 180 glasses can be filled with curd.
