What Is Mail App?

Mail app is a built-in program in Windows 8 that allows users to access their email inboxes without installing any other email client application. Mail app has an easy to use interface that users can configure for easy mail communication.

Registering with Mail App

To register with Windows 8 built-in Mail app, users must have a Microsoft account. As soon as users click Mail tile from the Start screen, the app displays a box in which users must provide Microsoft account credentials. Once Microsoft account credentials are provided, users are displayed with the Mail app interface from where emails can be sent or received as required.

While using Mail app, users are required to provide their Microsoft account credentials only when they are logged on to Windows 8 computer with local user account. When users use Microsoft account credentials to log on to Windows 8, the requirement of providing the same credentials again to use Mail app is completely eliminated, and users are directly displayed with the Mail app interface.
