Like ASP or PHP, ASP.NET also can be used for creating dynamic and interactive web pages.

ASP.NET was first released in January 2002 with version 1.0 of the .NET Framework, and is the successor to Microsoft's Active Server Pages (ASP) technology.

Before you learn ASP.NET, you should have a basic understanding of HTML and know how to create a basic Web page. Also, you should have some knowledge about Scripting languages like ASP or PHP.
