Create web 2.0 style text with The Gimp

Learn how to create web 2.0 looking text with The Gimp.


The web 2.0 effect really helps websites look great, this is done with web 2.0 style buttons, gradients, lines etc. One effect is also web 2.0 text usually used in logos. I am going to show you how to create a simple web 2.0 looking text for the words Help Developer!

1. Firstly I am going to create a new file with a width of 500px and a height of 150px
2. Next press T or select the Text tool from the toolbox and click near the top left of the canvas.
3. Type the text you would like to be shown in the window that appears, for me it is ‘Help Developer!’.
