-XX:UseCompressedOops is a JVM command line option which is provided in 64 bit hotspot JVM. Since size of OOPS is larger in 64 bit JVM which reduces CPU caching. this option reduces size of OOPS and improves CPU Caching with higher JVM heap sizes available in 64 bit JVM.    More detail...
