Description:

This is my first PS tutorial… I’ll explain how to create a lightning… So, open your PS, create an image like this:

Now, select the Gradient Tool (G), and fill like this:

Then, select Filter > Render > Difference Clouds. Your image will be like a black and white cloud… Now press Ctrl+I to invert the colors of your image and Ctrl+L to change brightness, levels, etc… So, configure this screen like this:    More detail...
