Configuring database.yml problems.

by prozatanus » Thu May 29, 2008 5:31 pm

First of all, forgive my english writing, cause I'm not a native english speaker (Brazilian) and thank's for the Ruby on Rails Tutorial. I'm liking it a lot!

My question is about the setup ou database.yml, I didn't understand if I have to edit the database.yml manualy coping the code example:

"development:
adapter: mysql
database: library_development
username: root
password: [password]
host: localhost
test:
adapter: mysql
database: library_test
username: root
password: [password]
host: localhost
production:
adapter: mysql
database: library_production
username: root
password: [password]
host: localhost"

over the text that came with the file and save with the same extension, or do another thing.

I copied over it, and then I tryed to create the Active Record files, but, I've got a list of errors.

But when I tryed to make the Active Record files without changing de .yml file, it worked well.

I don't know If I can progress, or the .yml has to be done first. At this case, can you explain me better the process?

Just to inform, my mySQL is configurated and working well to and all the other steps were done.

Thank's for any help![/img]
