Why people are still using PERL even when PHP has given more than what PERL is giving ???

Why am I still using perl? Perl was what I first learned for scripting and started with no prior programming experience and was already putting a few years on. I'm far from being what one would call competent at it but can get my projects to work(haven't really tried anything crazy yet). I like it because I can put my scripts together with a minimum of lines of code. Would like to learn php but the time factor is limiting as well as other things.

So, I'm pretty much weaned off of Cygwin - yeah, practically a Windows native now except for gVim and Perl. I guess that okay, eh?
